Renewable Energy Licensing - Minesto Sea Kite Project

 

Marenco Environmental Consultants where commisioned by Minesto to submit an apllication and accompanying Environmental Report in respect of a renewable energy device for testing in Strangford Lough. Minesto, a Swedish company, develops a new concept for tidal power plants called Deep Green, which is based on a fundamentally new principle for electricity generation from tidal currents. It is applicable in areas where no other known technology can operate cost effectively due to it's unique ability to operate in low velocities.

Environmental Statement - Clady Quarries

 

MARENCO was commissioned to undertake an Environmental Statement for the Clady Quarries hard rock quarry and associated processing plants at Cladymore, Mowhan, County Armagh.

This was is in response to the determination by Planning Service, in accordance with the Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations (NI) 1999, requiring the provision of an ES. The ES accompanied the Clady Quarries’ Planning Application for ‘Regularisation of Existing Quarry Complex and Extension to Current Workings’.

Due Diligence Audit - Acquisition of Jacob Fruitfield by Valeo Foods

 

In 2011, MARENCO Environmental Consultants was commissioned by Valeo Foods to conduct an Environmental Due-Diligence Audit of the Jacob Fruitfield Food Group portfolio. The commission arose out of the intended purchase of this portfolio. Valeo Foods was formed in 2010 and comprises a growing portfolio of leading Irish consumer brands which it supplies to Irish and international retail customers. The Valeo Foods portfolio currently includes Batchelors, Odlums, Shamrock, Sqeez, Roma, Erin, Amigo, Lustre and Picnic. Jacob Fruitfield brings together Fruitfield Foods and Irish Biscuits. The company’s consumer brands comprise a number of Ireland’s best known consumer food products including Jacob’s biscuits (Fig Rolls, Kimberley, Mikado and Coconut Creams), Chef sauces, Fruitfield jams and marmalades and Silvermints and Scots Clan sweets and confectionery. The combined business of Valeo and Jacob Fruitfield has an annual turnover of approximately €300 million.

EMS - Port of Cork

 

MARENCO was commissioned by Port of Cork Company to undertake environmental audits atfour sites, comprising over 140 hectares. Facilities are situated at four distinct locations CityQuays, Tivoli, Ringaskiddy and Cobh facilitating a range of services including, channel dredging,pilotage, towage and stevedoring. The company currently employs in excess of 100 people,operating on a 24-hour-day, seven-day-week basis. Approximately 48 tenants hold facilities atPort of Cork. Sectors represented include oil, gas, mining/minerals, chemical, animal feed, grain,livestock, transport/ haulage and new vehicles.
