NATURE CONSERVATION

Conserving our natural habitats and endangered species has become accepted as an important ethos of both the public and private sector.

Through the process of Environmental Impact Assessment, our ecologists can identify the resources required to maintain or restore natural habitats within proposed development areas. In addition, senior consultants are familiar with the planning inquiry process and have contributed to these proceedings as expert witnesses.

MARENCO have drafted detailed Conservation and Management Plans for many sites with important statutory nature conservation interest because of their wildlife or other natural features, such as rock exposures or glacial landforms.

Plans have included National Nature Reserves (NNRs), Areas of Special Scientific Interest (ASSIs), Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) and Special Protection Areas (SPAs).

The planning and management required to conserve our indigenous wildlife requires a high level of knowledge of flora, fauna and community interaction in order to ensure the maintenance or restoration of important natural habitats. MARENCO staff have appropriate academic qualifications and professional memberships. Our proven track record is maintained through regular training and refresher courses.
